Zirkomania Opening Variety Show
For the second time ZIRKOMANIA – Circusfestival sets up its tent in Leipzig.
We begin the Festival with an artistic Buffet of in-house Specialities. Look forward to our exquisite Menü of acrobatics, aerial artistry und dance with live music garnished und served with clownesque charm.

Franziska Merkel: „The little Flea Circus“
Clear the stage! For the show of the smallest artists in the world! And open your eyes, for the fleas of Francois! The program – believe it or not – consists entirely of Circus fleas: the magician Othmar, the strongman Oberposemuckel, the acrobat Schecki Schan and the clown Conrad. Children will be amazed by the daring tightrop act or the sorcery from another planet. And the adults will be amazed by the strength of their childrens imaginations! The biggest attraction is the unique nose show, with the sensational human flea! For this Director Francois will need all the suppLocation he can get from the audience. But Francois must always be on guard so that none of his fleas escape.
A miniature circus-theater play-along for big and small kids from 5 years.

Lichtkantine: Fire Show + open fire space
The artists of the Lichtkantine will bring flaming torches, burning hoops and a roaring fans onto this dance space. Circling fireballs merge with poignant music, so that a fascinating fire dance is created. A rapidly sensual play takes the audience under its spell, while you sense the heat of the fire on your skin. Spiel zieht das Publikum in seinen Bann, während die Hitze des Feuers auf der Haut zu spüren ist.
The Lichtkantine is a network of Leipzig’s Fire and dance artists and presents highlights from their latest show program.
Subsequently the „Open Fire Space“ provides an oppLocationunity for you yourself to try out the art of fire under professional guidance.

Circus Theater and Burlesque Circus
A contrasting program in two parts and three genres, held together by the power of femininity.
Les Mât Dam’s transpLocation us with their program „Circus Theatre“ into their merry vertical world – full of acrobatic poetry. With heart, soul and movement they tell us the story of an encounter between two slightly oblique and lovable characters, played with such tongue-in-cheek.
Two women on the Chinese Pole – a natural strength, tantalising peril with virtuous Acrobatics and at times a slightly creaky harmony in high heels.
For the second part of the evening the Burlesque dancers Singin Sue and Mama Ulita put together especially for us a program titled „Burlesque Circus“.

Zirkus Klatschmohn
The Children and Youth Zirkus Klatschmohn of Halle stop at Zirkomania while on their summer tour. The young artists present a colourful bouquet of freshly developed acts for example mounted acrobatics, high-flying juggling dreams and convincingly compassionate clowning. A lot of courage, artistic sensitivity and surprising comedy is to be expected of these young people which will not only amaze adults!

Two solo acts to fill this quiet and vivid evening with pure poetry!
In „thetes world“ we meet an adorably cheeky soul on his quest to overcome the loneliness. With restless gentleness and helpless indiscreet confusion Théte conjures pantomime images that go straight to the heart.
And in the play „Safar“, Iranian-German artist Parisa Karimi takes us into her magical suitcase on a journey through animation, video, and figure and dance theatre.
The imaginative imagery and touching stories take the audience to another place, another time and into a piece of cinema history.
